About Me
I’m Montie, the founder of Relentless Mental Performance Coaching. My passion for mental performance comes from a unique combination of professional experience, personal experience, and life in competitive sports.
I hold a Master of Arts (MA), am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), and earned my Mental Performance Mastery (MPM) certification through Brian Cain’s Mental Performance Mastery program. I also work as a School Counselor, giving me years of experience helping individuals navigate challenges, manage emotions, build confidence and resilience, and understand how thoughts and behaviors influence the way we respond and perform.
But some of my most important lessons about mental performance haven’t come from an office or classroom, they’ve come from being a moto mom.
Watching my kids compete in motocross has given me a front-row seat to the mental side of athletics. I’ve seen how confidence, fear, pressure, focus, frustration, and the ability to recover from mistakes can affect performance just as much as physical preparation.
That became even more personal after my son experienced a serious injury. I watched him work through not only the physical demands of recovery, but also the mental challenges that came with it, setbacks, uncertainty, fear, frustration, loss of confidence, and learning to trust himself again. I also watched the resilience and determination it took to work his way back to competition.
That experience reinforced what I had seen throughout my professional career: physical preparation alone isn’t enough. Athletes need tools to manage the mental demands that come with competition, adversity, expectations, and pressure.
That belief is what led me to create Relentless Mental Performance Coaching.
Through Relentless, I work with athletes, coaches, teams, and parents to develop practical mental performance skills that can be trained, practiced, and applied in real situations. The work focuses on areas such as confidence, focus, self-talk, emotional control, resilience, preparation, handling pressure, responding to adversity, recovering from mistakes, and trusting your training when it is time to perform.
My goal is not simply to help athletes perform better. It is to help them develop mental skills they can carry with them beyond competition, into school, relationships, future careers, and life.
Talent matters. Training matters. Preparation matters. Athletes also need the mental skills to trust their preparation, handle pressure, respond when things go wrong, and execute when it matters.
Train the Mind. Become Relentless.

The Relentless Mission
My mission is to help athletes become as intentional about training their minds as they are about training their bodies. Mental toughness is not simply something an athlete either has or doesn't have. Mental performance skills can be learned, practiced, strengthened, and applied.
My goal is to give athletes practical tools they can use in practice, before competition, under pressure, after a mistake, during a setback, and throughout the challenges that come with pursuing something difficult. Success is not about eliminating nerves, fear, mistakes, or adversity. It is about developing the skills to respond effectively when those moments happen. Ultimately, the goal is bigger than helping athletes perform better. It is to help develop confident, resilient, accountable young people who carry these skills beyond competition and into school, relationships, careers, and life.
